This unit critically examines a range of theoretical and methodological issues relevant to the study of language, history, society and culture within a broad Area Studies framework. It facilitates reflective engagement on a variety of conceptual approaches and frameworks and enables the acquisition of the theoretical skills required to complete an extended research project at a methodologically sophisticated level.
