Gambling support

We provide support and resources for families, friends and counsellors

Our GAMBLEAWARE clinics offers specialist treatment for gamblers. We also provide specialist support for families of people with gambling problems, and for couples experiencing relationship difficulties as a result of problem gambling.

Resources around gambling and related issues are available to you here. Many people find it useful to have as much information on these topics as possible while they are awaiting an appointment, but we would always encourage you to get in contact with one of our trained professionals who can best help with any problems you may be experiencing. You can make an appointment or find out more by calling 1800 482 482.

Help for family and friends

If someone in your immediate family is struggling with problem gambling, chances are you are struggling with the effects too. Our GAMBLEAWARE clinics provides counselling for family members. We have two main goals.

  • To help you look after yourself in the face of your loved ones gambling difficulties and
  • To instruct you how to most effectively support your loved one through their gambling difficulties

You’ll be seen by a specialist clinician who will draw on the latest evidence-based-research to guide you through these challenges. There is no need to face these difficulties alone.

Family member's of people with gambling problems are welcome to book in for separate sessions for support as well.
