Access to Industry

Gaining real-world experience is an important aspect of any business degree, and that’s why the Master of Management connects students with leading businesses to work on real projects and help solve real management problems.

You will get to work directly with our corporate partners including Deloitte, EY, Commonwealth Bank of Australia, and CISCO, and use the business skills developed throughout the course to participate in consulting projects.

Course Structure

The Master of Management program consists of nine units of study (60 credit points), including six core units of study, two elective units, and a business project.

The business project will provide you with the opportunity to put theory into practice and develop solutions to some of the most challenging contemporary business issues.

Who is the Master of Mangement (CEMS) for?

If you have a business background, the Master of Management (CEMS) degree will open doors for you internationally.

This degree has been specifically designed so that you can complete the CEMS Master in International Management program as part of your degree. We are the only Australian university to offer this program, and the only business school in Australia to be admitted as a member of CEMS. Upon completion of this program, you will graduate with two qualifications:

  1. Master of Management (CEMS) from the University of Sydney
  2. CEMS Master in International Management from CEMS

Global Industry Experience

During your studies, you will spend at least one semester at a CEMS network University where you will experience different cultures while studying and gaining business knowledge and experience.

As part of the program, you will work closely with industry partners through skill seminars, career forums and capstone projects where you will interact directly with senior leaders and alumni. Course Structure

The Master of Management (CEMS) program consists of twelve units of study (72 points), including a maximum of six CEMS exchange units of study completed at an international CEMS partner institution, and a CEMS business project.

As part of the program, you will also be required to learn a third language to an elementary level.

Admission criteria

To be considered for admission, an applicant is required to have:

  • an Australian bachelor's degree or higher with a credit average (65 percent) or equivalent qualification or 
  • an Australian bachelor's degree or higher with less than a credit average (minimum 50 percent required), and satisfactory performance in the GMAT (for guidance, the class average score is 630) or equivalent Business School approved admissions test.

To be considered for admission, an applicant is required to have:

    an Australian bachelor's degree or higher with a credit average (65 percent) or equivalent qualification or 

    an Australian bachelor's degree or higher with less than a credit average (minimum 50 percent required), and satisfactory performance in the GMAT (for guidance, the class average score is 630) or equivalent Business School approved admissions test.

 
Language requirements No language requirements. Students must demonstrate a high level of proficiency in a minimum of two languages, one of which can be English.#  

# From 2023 Australian citizens will be exempt from the CEMS language requirements (they will be admitted based on English as a mother tongue). As part of the program, these students will be required to learn a second and third language to a beginner/elementary level. Please note that the CEMS language requirement is an exit requirement and must be completed prior to graduation.
