The University of Sydney Business School Executive MBA (EMBA) program has been ranked for the first time in the QS Global Executive MBA ranking, achieving 3rd in Australia, 6th in Asia Pacific and 33rd globally out of 232 programs worldwide.
This debut is a testament to the quality, impact, and global relevance of the program, now in its 14th cohort, and a proud moment for the entire EMBA community.
Being included in this global ranking affirms the program’s academic rigor, innovative curriculum, and exceptional quality of the EMBA program. It reflects the Business School’s commitment to equipping global leaders with the skills and insights they need to thrive in a rapidly changing world.
The QS Global Executive MBA Rankings evaluate programs by combining input from thought leaders in business and management alongside the perceptions of global employers who recruit from the world’s best EMBA programmes. In addition, key measures also include executive profile, career progression and diversity.
The Business School’s EMBA performed particularly strongly in the categories of Executive Profile and Thought Leadership — highlighting the program’s strength in cultivating experienced, forward-thinking leaders who drive change across industries and borders.
The program stands out for its focus on real-world application, global perspective, and cutting-edge topics in critical areas such as sustainability, digital transformation, and strategic leadership. With participants travelling from the USA to India and Japan, the EMBA's immersive global experiences continue to bring Australian leaders closer to innovation, digital technologies, and transformative leadership in action.
To our students, alumni, faculty, staff and partners: thank you for your leadership, dedication and support. This recognition reflects your collective impact, and we look forward to building an even more transformative future together.
Associate Professor Massimo Garbuio
Director of the Executive MBA
Our EMBA consists of a mix of self-directed online primers, a major strategic project and 5 x 2-week face-to-face residential blocks held about every 4 months over an 18-month period, from February to July. These are currently undertaken in Australia, the United States and locations in India and Asia.*
Units build cumulatively throughout the degree, with leadership at the core. Throughout the program you will work on a change initiative to address a significant strategic issue confronting your organisation through the EMBA Report – a culmination of your discoveries and learnings throughout the entire degree.
*Please note our module locations are under constant review to ensure we stay aligned with global leadership trends.
