Nutritional ecology is the guiding framework for integrating research across the nutrition theme. Nutritional ecology considers the primary focus in nutrition to be the interface between the organism and the food environment. This is inspired by fundamental theory from biology, including evolutionary and ecological biology, and regulatory theory (cybernetics) from behaviour and physiology.

Our theme relies on research output and contributions from our project nodes, and in turns informs research practice with regard to nutrition research.
