Two University of Sydney students win 2018 MADE scholarships
Daming Zhu (Bachelor of Engineering (Civil)/ Bachelor of Design in Architecture) and Jaime Painter (Bachelor of Civil Engineering) are two of the five lucky finalists of the 2018 international tertiary exchange program.
Finalists of the 2018 Multidisciplinary Australian Danish Exchange program
The Sydney Opera House has announced the Australian students selected for the 2018 MADE by the Opera House scholarship, the international exchange that extends architect Jørn Utzon's collaborative approach to architecture, engineering and design.
The students will travel to Denmark next January to take part in a collaborative six-week project that brings together the key disciplines that combined to create the World Heritage masterpiece. They will be joined by three students from the University of NSW and University of Technology, Sydney on the Denmark exchange.
Now in its fourth year, the annual Multidisciplinary Australian Danish Exchange - known as MADE by the Opera House - gives five Australian and five Danish students the chance to work on a multidisciplinary project and undertake a study tour in the other country.
MADE aims to promote international and cross-disciplinary interaction between students of architecture, engineering and design (of the built environment). As well as providing a multidisciplinary experience for Australian and Danish students, the program fosters cultural links between the two countries.
