School of Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering

Creating resources and technologies to transform the world

With a focus on food, energy, health, water and the environment we engage with industry, government and the community to support researchers and educate aspiring engineers, as they endeavour to solve today’s pressing issues.

The School of Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering offered Australia's first university-level chemical engineering program. Since then, we have been committed to excellence in both teaching and research in chemical engineering, biochemical engineering and biotechnology, energy and environment, green product and process design, minerals processing, process systems engineering and sustainability.

Our research

Add substantial value to your industrial research and development through our chemical engineering analytical services.

Industry can access extensive analytical laboratory facilities with advanced equipment, in-depth knowledge and insight from staff with proven experience in chemical engineering research.

Study with us

Our Major Industrial Project Placement Scheme (MIPPS) program is designed to place some of our highest achieving students studying either an undergraduate engineering degree or Master of Professional Engineering within leading industry companies during their final year of studies.
