Our researchers leverage sensors, robotics and data analytics in precision farming to grow more with less, develop alternative proteins and innovative food processing techniques for more sustainable diets, and improve food supply chains through better management and technology to reduce waste.

Circular economy and resource recovery focuses on eliminating waste and maximising reuse of resources through innovative engineering. In this theme, our researchers develop technologies to transform waste streams into valuable products, create efficient recycling processes for materials like plastics and electronics, and design sustainable materials that have minimal environmental footprints throughout their lifecycle.

Manufacturing and industry 4.0

Manufacturing and industry 4.0 encompasses research on digitally transforming manufacturing processes through automation, data and smart technology. Our researchers develop intelligent production systems that fuse the physical and digital worlds, from robotic assembly lines to AI-driven quality control.
