School observation and practice teaching are major, integral components of the professional experiences in all education and teaching programs at the Sydney School of Education and Social Work.
Practicums and internships – which are offered in partnership with participating schools – are designed to augment University coursework and provide student teachers with opportunities to develop their teaching skills and professional understanding.
Students will complete five days of professional experience observation in Year 2, a 20-day block of professional experience in year 3, and a 35-day block and a 20-day final block of professional experience in year 4.
