Sydney Law School has partnered with Amberlake Lawyers to establish the Amberlake Scholarship in Legal Excellence, a new initiative aimed at supporting high-achieving law students and promoting diversity within the legal profession.
The scholarship represents a $50,000 commitment to be awarded to penultimate-year Juris Doctor (JD) and Bachelor of Laws (LLB) students who demonstrate exceptional academic performance, leadership, and community engagement.
Established by the University of Sydney Law School alumnus and Amberlake Lawyers Founder and Managing Partner, Steven Hu, the scholarship also aims to assist students from diverse backgrounds who may face financial disadvantage.
“As an alumnus of Sydney Law School, it is a privilege to support the next generation of legal professionals through this scholarship," Steven Hu said.
"We hope to recognise and nurture exceptional talent while providing meaningful assistance to students from diverse backgrounds who might otherwise face barriers to opportunity."
Reflecting on the broader purpose of the initiative, Hu said:
“Through initiatives such as this, we also seek to inspire fellow alumni, migrant entrepreneurs, and emerging professionals to contribute to the University and invest in the leaders of tomorrow. By fostering excellence and embracing diversity, we strengthen both the legal profession and the broader community.”
The Amberlake Scholarship exemplifies Amberlake Lawyers’ ongoing commitment to education, professional development, and advancing a more inclusive legal and professional landscape.
