Alcohol prevention reduces risky drinking and related harms in adulthood

Adolescents who received 'Climate Schools' or 'PreVenture' school-based preventative interventions report up to 96% reduced-odds of hazardous alcohol use, and up to 87% reduced the odds of experiencing alcohol-related harms, when compared to young people who received 'health education as usual', researchers from the Matilda Centre have found.

Lifestyle risks for chronic disease among Australian adolescents: a cross-sectional survey

Researchers from the Matilda Centre analysed cross-sectional data from the Health4Life Study to examine the prevalence and socio-demographic correlates of the 'Big 6' major lifestyle risk factors for chronic disease among Australian adolescents.

Using technology to curb anxiety and alcohol use problems among youth

Results from the Inroads trial show that the online program can reduce anxiety symptoms and hazardous alcohol use among youth. Researchers at the Matilda Centre have added new content to help young people manage stress and anxiety related to COVID-19 and have optimised the platform for national roll-out across Australia.
