Preparing during your studies

Students considering overseas registration are strongly encouraged to begin preparation early in their degree. Many overseas agencies require detailed documentation that may be difficult to obtain after graduation.

To support a successful application process, you should:

  • maintain a clear and detailed record of clinical placement hours and activities,
  • retain copies of unit of study outlines, course descriptions, and learning modules, and
  • familiarise yourself with the specific requirements of the registering body in your intended country of practice

Applying for overseas registration

Before submitting a request to the University of Sydney, you should first contact the relevant overseas registration body in the country where you intend to practise.

It is your responsibility to confirm eligibility criteria, application process and timelines, and any associated fees and documentation requirements.

Most overseas registration bodies will require official documentation from the University of Sydney. This may include an academic transcript, evidence of clinical placements, a letter of good standing, and course or subject outlines.

Ensure you have a clear understanding of the documentation required before lodging your request with the University.
