Student placements are a major component of many of our medical and health programs and are integral to students gaining professional registration as a practising health care professional after graduation.
Student placements in the Faculty of Medicine and Health occur within professional work settings. Under supervision, students are required to practically apply learnt theory and skills in the workplace to complete tasks, at a level appropriate to their training and experience, and aligned with the duties of practitioners in their field.
Student placement requirements, supervision models and structure will vary depending on your course. Work settings are mostly with partner organisations external to the University but also include University-dedicated precincts and clinics. Work settings are mostly in metropolitan Sydney, rural and regional NSW, and interstate. There are some international and online (Telehealth) opportunities also available.
