Nanoscale photonic circuits

Harness interactions between light waves, sound waves and matter
Professor Ben Eggleton’s group works in optical physics and photonics, and their breakthroughs in nonlinear nanoscale waveguides have created a new paradigm for photonic chip based signal processing.

Photonic chips represent the new frontier for information processing in the 21st century providing faster, greener, smarter and more secure information processing.

“The integration of our labs, cleanrooms and teaching facilities for the first time, transforms the way we perform experimental research. We’re discovering and harnessing new physics, and making bold new discoveries,” says Professor Eggleton.
