Who we are

The Sydney Informatics Hub enables excellence in computational and data-driven research by providing support, training and expertise in statistics, data science, AI, software engineering, simulation, visualisation, bioinformatics and research computing to researchers, industry and government.

The Sydney Informatics Hub brings together experts from diverse analytical and technical backgrounds to assist you with your research goals.

Sydney Informatics Hub supports a number of schemes to help researchers meet their data and HPC needs:

  • Sydney Informatics Hub-supported High Performance Computing Schemes:
    • NCI-Sydney Scheme: Free and open.
    • NCMAS (Pawsey and NCI): Annually
    • Artemis HPC: Free and open (service ending from March 2025)
    • Ronin Cloud: Rolling trials and paid contribution
    • For access options to commercial cloud (AWS, Azure) or National facilities (NCI, Pawsey) or for any other systems contact us at: sih.info@sydney.edu.au
  • Sydney Informatics Hub Project Scheme: Currently closed for applications but keep an eye out for our next call for applications. If you’d like to be notified when we next open applications, contact us at sih.info@sydney.edu.au
  • Sydney Research Infrastructure Access Grants: Support access to Core Research Facilities and Research Service Units by researchers whose opportunities may otherwise be limited. Access Grants can be used to enable work with other facilities, but do not apply to Sydney Informatics Hub.

The use of our services including the Artemis HPC and associated support and training warrants acknowledgement in any publications, conference proceedings or posters describing work facilitated by these services.

The continued acknowledgment of the use of our acilities ensures the sustainability of our services.

Suggested wording

  • General acknowledgement: "The authors acknowledge the technical assistance provided by the Sydney Informatics Hub, a Core Research Facility of the University of Sydney."
  • Acknowledging specific staff: “The authors acknowledge the technical assistance of (name of staff) of the Sydney Informatics Hub, a Core Research Facility of the University of Sydney.”
