Macular Milestones: Community Research Update

This free event is an opportunity for people in the vision impairment community to learn about the latest developments in treating macular disease.
Join Save Sight Institute's leading macular researchers on Monday 27th May 2024 as they share recent updates on macular disease treatments and therapies.
The agenda is as follows:
- Professor Mark Gillies, Head of the Macular Research Group: Phase 3 clinical trials finally identify an effective treatment that slows macular degeneration in eyes with MacTel
- Professor Matthew Simunovic, Head of the Retinal Disease and Rescue Group: Surgical delivery of therapy to the macula
- Dr Yohei Hashimoto: The Fight Retinal Blindness! Registry of outcomes of treatments for macular disease
- Dr Shaoxue Zeng: Using tiny fat droplets to deliver gene therapy that combats oxidative stress in retinal diseases
Talks will be followed by light refreshments from 12pm. The event is free and will be held in-person.
