The Macular Research Group aims to develop new treatments for macular disease. Our two research units conduct world-class, patient-oriented research.
The group is made up of two cohesive research units and an innovative outcomes-based Fight Retinal Blindness! (FRB!) registry.
We’re an internationally certified clinical trial unit, conducting randomised clinical trials in macula and retinal diseases.
As part of the Macular Research Group, we investigate the contribution of the outer retinal metabolism to retinal health. Our research has a particular focus on Müller cell dysfunction and manipulation.
