The Macular Research Group aims to develop new treatments for macular disease. Our two research units conduct world-class, patient-oriented research.
The group is made up of two cohesive research units and an innovative outcomes-based Fight Retinal Blindness! (FRB!) registry.
As part of the Macular Research Group, we investigate the contribution of the outer retinal metabolism to retinal health. Our research has a particular focus on Müller cell dysfunction and manipulation.
