Benefits

This scholarship is valued at $15,000 per year, tenable for up to four years.

Who's eligible

You must:

  • be an Australian citizen or permanent resident
  • be starting an undergraduate degree at the University of Sydney Business School
  • start your studies in the year of the scholarship offer, you cannot defer this scholarship
  • have a minimum ATAR of 99.5 or equivalent.

Note: If you are undertaking a combined law degree the scholarship is only valid for the duration of the business award course and honours year.

Background

This scholarship supports high-achieving high school leavers with a demonstrated interest in business.

Selection criteria
  • Awarded to a student scoring a minimum ATAR (or equivalent) of 99.50 or above in the NSW Higher School Certificate (or approved equivalent) with outstanding achievements in public speaking, leadership and community achievement and a demonstrated interest in business.
  • All offers of award are conditional upon evidence that the student meets the essential criteria.
  • Each scholarship will be awarded at the discretion of the Dean of the University of Sydney Business School or the Dean’s nominees.
Ongoing eligibility
  • Recipients must meet all program requirements and maintain an average grade of 75 Distinction.
Payment schedule
  • Payments will be made in two equal instalments after the census date of each semester.
Termination

The scholarship will be terminated if the recipient:

  • Withdraws from an eligible course or fails to enrol,
  • Commences part-time study without prior approval,
  • does not maintain satisfactory academic performance,
  • is determined by the University to be guilty of serious misconduct, including, but not limited to, having provided false or misleading information as part of their Scholarship application,
  • accepts an alternative scholarship, administered by the University of Sydney, valued at $6,000 per annum or more for the same purpose as this Scholarship,
  • does not resume study at the end of a period of approved leave, or
  • any other provision as indicated in these terms that would lead to termination.
