This scholarship is valued at $1500 per year and is tenable for one year only.
This scholarship was founded in 1972 from gift of $5000 from Mrs BK Elkins.
a. Founded in 1972 by a gift of $5000 from Mrs B.K. Elkins to establish a scholarship in the Faculty of Architecture to be known as the J.W. and B.K. Elkins Architectural Award.
a. Applicants must have completed the requirements for the Bachelor of Design in Architecture with a pass grade, and be continuing into an honours year with the Sydney School of Architecture, Design and Planning at the University of Sydney.
b. Applicants must be approved and have enrolled in their honours year within the School.
a. The Scholarship will be awarded on the basis of:
I. academic merit,
II. research proposal, and
III. a personal statement which outlines how the Scholarship will assist applicants with their studies.
b. The Scholarship will be awarded on the nomination of the School Honours Year Program Director, or their nominated delegate.
a. The Scholarship is valued at $1,500 and is tenable for one year only.
b. The scholarship value will be paid as a single payment after the census date of the first semester of enrolment in the relevant course.
c. Deferral of the Scholarship is not permitted and it is not transferable to faculty, University school or university.
d. The Scholarship will be offered subject to the availability of funds.
e. No other amount is payable.
a. The recipient must maintain their full-time enrolment in their Honours Program.
a. The Scholarship will be terminated if the recipient:
I. withdraws from an eligible course or fails to enrol,
II. commences part-time study without prior approval,
III. does not maintain satisfactory academic performance,
IV. is determined by the University to be guilty of serious misconduct, including, but not limited to, having provided false or misleading information as part of their Scholarship application,
V. does not resume study at the end of a period of approved leave, or
VI. any other provision as indicated in these terms that would lead to termination.
b. Once the Scholarship has been terminated, it will not be reinstated.
c. Where a student is found guilty of serious misconduct or withdraws from the relevant course, the University reserves the right to request that any Scholarship funds paid to the Scholarship recipient be reimbursed.
