You must:

  • be enrolled in their final year of studying violin at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music, and
  • be planning to complete their Masters at the Sydney Conservatorium or an overseas institution.

Background

The Prize was established in 2023 to support violin students at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music. 

1. Background

a. The Prize was established in 2023 to support violin students at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music. 

b. This Prize was donated by Drs Keith and Eileen Ong.

2. Eligibility criteria

a. To be considered eligible for this Prize, students must be enrolled in their final year of studying violin at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music.

b. Students must be planning to complete their Masters at the Sydney Conservatorium or an overseas institution.

3. Selection criteria 

a. The Prize will be awarded based on highest weighted average mark in an undergraduate degree by students who have studied violin.

b. The Prize will be awarded by the Dean of the Sydney Conservatorium of Music.

4. Value

a. The Scholarship is valued at $10,000 and will be paid as a one-off payment. 

a. No other amount is payable.

b. The Prize will be awarded subject to the availability of funds. 

5. Termination

a. The University reserves the right to withdraw the Prize, if the University determines that the student is guilty of serious misconduct, including, but not limited to, having provided false or misleading information that has a relationship to the awarding of this Prize. 

b. Once withdrawn the Prize will not be reinstated.
