Who's eligible

You must:

  • be enrolled in the Master of International Business
  • be enrolled in the International Business Project unit of study in the July or December intensive session
  • undertake the international study tour component of the project.

Background

This scholarship has been established by the University of Sydney Business School to support Master of International Business students.

Funds are to be used to assist with the program fees, airfares, and other travel expenses for the international study tour component of the International Business Project.

1. Background

a. The Master of International Business Travel Support Travel Scholarship has been established by The University of Sydney Business School to support Master of International Business students.

b. Funds are to be used to assist with the program fees, airfares, and other travel expenses for the international study tour component of the International Business Project.

2. Eligibility

a. Applicants who are currently enrolled either part or full-time in the Master of International Business at the University of Sydney Business School.

b. Applicants must be enrolled in the International Business Project Unit of Study in the July or December intensive session, and will undertake the international study tour component of the Project.

3. Selection criteria

a. The Scholarship will be awarded on the basis of:

I. academic merit, and

II. a personal statement demonstrating how the Masters of International Business program has helped applicants prepare for success in the international project and what they hope to gain from participating in the international project.

b. The Scholarship will be awarded on the nomination of a selection committee consisting of the Program Manager and the Program Director of the Master of International Business.

4. Value

a. The Scholarship is valued up to $5000 and paid as a one-off payment prior to the Project commencement.

b. Deferral of the Scholarship is not permitted and it is not transferable to another purpose faculty/University school or University.

c. The Scholarship will be offered subject to the availability of funds.

d. No other amount is payable.

5. Ongoing eligibility

a. The recipient must remain enrolled in their degree and in the International Business Project unit of study during the tenure of this Scholarship. The recipient must also complete the academic requirements of the Project unit of study.

6. Termination

a. The Scholarship will be terminated if the recipient/or:

I. withdraws from the Master of International Business or fails to enrol,

II. withdraws from the International Business Project unit of study or fails to enrol,

III. does not undertake and successfully complete the international study tour option of the International Business Project unit of study,

IV. is determined by the University to be guilty of serious misconduct, including, but not limited to, having provided false or misleading information as part of their Scholarship application,

V. does not resume study at the end of a period of approved leave,

VI. the international study tour option is cancelled and does not take place, or

VII. any other provision as indicated in these terms that would lead to termination.

b. Once the Scholarship has been terminated, it will not be reinstated unless due to University error.

c. Where a student is found guilty of serious misconduct, withdraws from the relevant course or where the Scholarship is terminated, the University reserves the right to request that any Scholarship funds paid to the Scholarship recipient be reimbursed.

7. Representation

a. Scholarship holders may be invited to promote the program in which they are enrolled and represent the Business School at student orientation, marketing events or corporate networking events.
