We have a range of options for international postgraduate research students studying in the fields of architecture, design and planning. This page includes scholarships for both prospective and current international students.

AINSE Residential Student Scholarships $7,500 pa + up to $5000 pa (for length of RTP scholarship)
  • PhD student
  • Recipient of an RTP stipend scholarship or equivalent award
Garry and Susan Rothwell Research Scholarship $10,000 pa (up to 3 years)
  • PhD student
  • Research architectural design, urban design or urbanism
HJ Cowan Architectural Science Scholarship $2,500
  • Enrolled in a research degree in the area of architectural science
Postgraduate Research Scholarship in Collaborative AI for Science (Co-) Cre $38,500 p.a. (up to 3.5 years)
  • Commencing PhD at the Sydney School of Architecture, Design and Planning
  • Hold an Honours degree (first class or second upper) in Computer Science or equivalent
  • Willing to focus their PhD research on the problem of co-creative systems in the context of scientific research.
Postgraduate Research Scholarship in the Future of Design Education $35,000 p.a. (up to 3 years)
  • PhD student at the Sydney School of Architecture, Design and Planning
  • Hold an Honours degree (first class or second upper)
    Masters degree with a substantial research component.
  • Conduct research into mixed-methods research in design education.
  • 5 years of experience teaching design courses, preferably studios.
Postgraduate Research Scholarship in Transformation of Ageing Apartment Buildings $35,950 p.a. (up to 3.5 years)
  • Commencing PhD at the Sydney School of Architecture, Design and Planning
  • Holds First Class Honours or equivalent degree
Postgraduate Research Scholarship in Rental Vulnerability University of Sydney's RTP stiped rate p.a. (up to 3 years)
  • PhD student at the Sydney School of Architecture, Design and Planning
  • Hold an Honours degree (first class or second upper)
    Masters degree with a substantial research component.
  • Conduct research in examining Rental Vulnerability in Australia.
