Proble(m): Solving maths in your world

Making the real world solvable - an incursion program for Years 9 and 10 students

"When will we need this maths in real life?"

Now you can help your Years 9 and 10 students work out the answer to this question with our syllabus-driven exploratory maths program, run in your school with the support of our expert facilitators.

Students will learn how to use their Stage 5 topics to design solutions to problems they have observed in the real world, close to their school and community, and be able to develop and show off their STEM communication skills as they become more confident in applying their maths knowledge to solve practical problems.

There are four modules for students and teachers to work through in our Proble(m) program, with comprehensive workbooks supplied for each module, which our facilitators will guide you through:

  • Module 1: Understanding the Problem You Want to Solve
  • Module 2: Determining How to Solve the Problem
  • Module 3: Designing Your Solution
  • Module 4: Communicating Your Solution
