Did you know the University of Sydney has more than 70,000 students and staff in its community? That’s nearly the same population size of Coffs Harbour and it means we have a significant impact on the environment around us. It also means we have the opportunity as an institution to inspire positive change, both locally and globally.
The University is committed to addressing sustainability as an important issue – through our world-leading research and education, as well as our actions locally across our campuses – to tackle key focus areas such as waste, energy and emissions, travel, food on campus and our readiness for climate change.
As a first step, the University has created a quick survey for students to give personal feedback on which of these focus areas they believe are most important and where the University can make the biggest impact. This survey is open until 5pm, Friday 6 September.
The feedback gathered will directly inform the development of a new university-wide sustainability strategy.
