2021 Sydney Abroad Fair
The annual Sydney Abroad Fair will be held virtually. It kick-offs with a live event on Tuesday 12 October from 11am to 1pm followed by partner info sessions on Wednesday 13 and Thursday 14 October. There is also a virtual world challenge, a scavenger hunt activity with prizes, running over week. Register for the live event and for more information, including:
- Student and alumni panels with FAQs: the live stream present panels by alumni, who have benefited from a global experience as Sydney graduates, and current students, who have had completed a variety of global programs in their degree. You will also hear about the types of programs and destinations as well as the impact of COVID-19.
- Partner info sessions: across the two days, our partner universities from around the world will present about their programs, campuses, city and why you should chose them as your study abroad or exchange destination. You can also ask questions to Sydney students who studied in countries across Asia, Europe, North America and the UK.
- Plan for the future: the Sydney Abroad Virtual Fair is the perfect opportunity to find out more about global opportunities in 2022, including funding options, virtual programs and in-person travel, and meet the team who will help make it possible.

"Despite the travel ban, I got to experience Italy with the intensive virtual OLE in-country unit with a partner university. It was exciting to learn from Italian teachers through online workshops and live city tours via Zoom. We gained fundamental language skills, had daily chats with local students and cooked along with Italian chefs. Engaging with real-life content was very rewarding!”
Summer break virtual programs
The summer break is a great opportunity for students to undertake a short-term virtual overseas experience including internships and study programs. These provide the valuable skills that you usually develop through international experiences without some of the costs associated with travelling overseas.
There are some short-term programs over the summer break that are available for in-person study for students in their country of citizenship/permanent residence, where they are currently residing in that country.
It’s so much more rewarding being able to engage with content that’s real-life. You also get the taste of travel without the jet-lag and damage to your bank account.
Planning for 2022 exchange
Did you know that planning and applications for semester exchange programs start up to 6-12 months before you depart? Applications for Semester 2, 2022 exchange programs are currently open so you can start the process now.
The Sydney Abroad Fair will help you explore your international options and inspire you to choose a program best suited for your studies. In the meantime, there are a number of info sessions run by Sydney Abroad advisers that will provide guidance around the application process.
