Announcing SEI's Indigenous environmental studies Honours scholarship

Applications are open to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students who plan to engage with Sydney Environment Institute's research themes as part of their Honours study.

The Sydney Environment Institute is pleased to announce a new Honours scholarship aimed at providing assistance to Indigenous students undertaking an Honours program aligned with the Sydney Environment Institute’s research areas

This undergraduate research scholarship is valued at up to $8,000 per annum for up to one year, including a $5,000 cash payment and up to $3,000 for relocation and accommodation support. 

A part-time enrolled recipient will receive the scholarship valued at up to $4,000 per annum for up to two years, including a $2,500 per annum cash payment and up to $1,500 for relocation and accommodation support.

This scholarship is just one part of SEI’s ongoing recognition and commitment to provide opportunities for the University’s diverse communities, including Aboriginal and Torres Islander students, to engage with collaborative and multidisciplinary environmental research.

Eligibility 

Applications are encouraged from Indigenous students who plan on commencing an Honours degree at the University of Sydney in Semester 1, 2024.

Applicants must also intend to engage with one of SEI’s research themes as part of their Honours study. These themes are:
