Physiotherapy Clinical Practicum III will provide students with opportunities to gain and demonstrate competencies in the skills and attributes of physiotherapy professionals. During the placement, students will have the opportunity to lead individual and group training sessions, such as group rehabilitation and exercise sessions and participate in interprofessional learning opportunities. Physiotherapy Clinical Practicum III will take place in various settings, such as in-patient and out-patient hospital settings, rehabilitation centres, aged care and community settings. Students will learn how to provide clinical care to a variety of individuals and groups, while gaining an understanding of government provisions for clinical care. Students will enhance their skills in communication and history-taking, assessment, goal setting, clinical reasoning, teamwork, procedural skills, and professional practice in diverse clinical environments. Students will also be introduced to the principles of open disclosure and self-regulation. They will reflect on ethical and professional considerations within the scope of physiotherapy practice and on the social determinants of health. Students can expect to have at least one of their clinical placements in a rural or regional setting.
