Our consultation process

Your consultation begins with a final‑year veterinary student, working under close supervision.

  • You and your pet are welcomed from the waiting area
  • A comprehensive medical history is taken
  • A thorough clinical examination of your pet is performed

This ensures all relevant information is carefully gathered from the outset.

Following the initial examination, the student discusses your pet’s case with an experienced veterinarian, specialist, or senior clinician.

  • Clinical findings and history are reviewed
  • Possible diagnostic tests and treatment options are considered

The veterinarian and student then return to you and your pet.

  • The veterinarian may ask additional questions or perform further examination
  • Diagnostic and treatment options are clearly explained, including expected benefits, risks, and possible complications
  • The student continues learning by observing and assisting under supervision

At the conclusion of the consultation:

  • Your pet may be admitted to the hospital for further care, or
  • You take your pet home

Your pet’s case may continue to be discussed by the veterinary team after your appointment.

  • Additional review with senior clinicians or specialists may occur
  • Input may be sought from other specialist teams within the hospital

  • Your pet benefits from multiple levels of veterinary oversight
  • Care is guided by experienced clinicians
  • Emergency and urgent cases are prioritised appropriately based on clinical need
