Swetha Barade
Master of Commerce (specialising in Finance)
"After working with an investment banker for three years, I wanted to explore the different facets of finance and acquire specialised knowledge in mergers and acquisitions, corporate valuation, and risk management. This is why I chose the Finance specialisation, which has been a gateway for me to achieve a 12-week internship at a firm in Sydney where I had the opportunity to work on financial modelling and a feasibility study for the company's global expansion initiative."
If your undergraduate studies weren’t business or commerce related and you’re looking to change industries or pivot into business, the Master of Commerce (Extension) is a comprehensive two year program designed to provide you with fundamental business acumen.
In addition to the foundational units of study covering all aspects of business, you will have the opportunity to choose 2 of our 8 specialisations to personalise your learning and tailor the degree to your career goals. Regardless of whether you want to be an Investment Banker, Brand Manager, Supply Chain Analyst or Management Consultant, the two year Master of Commerce (Extension) will provide you with the necessary skills to future-proof your career.
Scott Ellice-Flint
Master of Commerce (specialising in International Business and Marketing)
"We live in a world that is constantly changing. Choosing marketing and international business as my areas of interest has helped me develop skills that shape my ability to think critically in a business context.
"The knowledge I gained gave me a global mindset that has allowed me to both empathise with customers' problems and apply it to building a global business of my own."
Your personal circumstances may mean that you have a business background but still wish to apply for the two year Master of Commerce (Extension). Depending on your prior learning, you could be eligible to have your previous study recognised and credited.
Our two-year program will give you the opportunity to choose two of our eight specialisations to really personalise your learning to your interests and goals, and also will open up the doors to either participation in a global exchange program or a dissertation.
