The Sydney Knowledge Hub's team manages works in collaboration with the broader University and startup sector to develop a vibrant ecosystem of support for research commercialisation.
Much of our work is done in collaboration with other parts of the University including the Research Portfolio, the Innovation Hub, faculties and schools.
Imche Veiga
Director
Imche is committed to building the culture, capability and connectivity of the Sydney Knowledge Hub, supporting its community to bridge the gap between invention and implementation. Originally a researcher in biotechnology, Imche transitioned from the lab to leadership and governance roles.
Imche's experience spans the country’s largest deep technology incubator, a science-led venture capital fund, a public R&D funding body, industry associations, as well as several startups and social ventures.
Nikola Amanovic
Hub Operations Manager
Nikola is focused on creating valuable connections between our members and opportunities at the University. Jason Okey
Program Coordinator
Jason brings enthusiasm and excellence for delivering events and project management and an interest in research commercialisation. Jason is driving our current programs, including the PERIscope Commercialisation Award and working with the team to shape new programs.
Karla Perez Romero
Partnerships and Events Manager
Karla Perez Romero brings 15+ years’ experience in marketing, business development, and project management. At the Hub, she drives collaboration and research commercialisation by building strategic partnerships and delivering high-impact programs, from events and workshops to hackathons and sponsorships.
Karla connects the University of Sydney with startups, industry, government, and Sydney's tech community, equipping researchers and entrepreneurs with the networks and resources to grow, create impact, and achieve commercial success.
Jane Cockburn
Commercialisation Program Manager
Jane has 20+ years’ experience working within and for corporate, start-up and academic industries. She brings a complementary range of expertise in product development, change, human centred design and marketing across multiple industries with an applied focus on Medical Technology. Jane designed our flagship program PERIscope Commercialisation Award and also runs the Inventor mentoring and SPARK programs.
