We aim to foster breakthrough research and development in information technologies by promoting an entrepreneurial culture that encourages innovative startup ventures.
The Sydney Accelerator Network: Information Technologies (SAN:IT) provides a platform for students, academics and industry practitioners to collaborate and develop innovative solutions to challenging problems and to pursue opportunities for creating new products and services.
By actively engaging the University community and our industry partners, SAN:IT initiates and advances projects with the aim of successful commercial outcomes. We tap into the expertise of our partners through training and mentoring initiatives.
Equipped with advanced infrastructure, we provide a conducive environment for experimenting with ground-breaking ideas and developing and testing prototype solutions.
We can house up to six startup companies at any time and facilitate:
- Short courses, full semester units of study and other forms of experiential training on aspects of entrepreneurship and business development.
- Opportunities to network with successful entrepreneurs, angel investors and venture capitalists and to connect with Silicon Valley startups through a high-profile Advisory Panel.
- Guidance on optimal team formation with the right mix of technical and business development skills and background.
- Access to advice and support from researchers and academics with relevant and specialised expertise.
- Venture and commercialisation competitions to open to select groups. Successful capstone project teams are invited to join the hub.
- Links and pathways to the broader innovation ecosystem in Sydney through cooperative arrangements with similar innovation centres and incubators.
- Grok Learning is an online interactive platform that offers coding classes in programming languages like Python and Logo.
- Health Copilot is a weight loss coach bot called AIme (AI for me). AIme takes data from your health devices and applies machine learning to analyse your data and delivers real-time recommendations to guide you to your weight loss goal.
- Plannertrip simplifies the travel planning process by creating customised itineraries. We extract information from several travel sources and match it with each user profile using artificial intelligence algorithms.
- Space Ops is a launch provider for small satellites. We provide frequent, individual launches for the fast-growing satellite market. No more waiting, no more compromise. Our proprietary rocket is manufactured to order, carrying up to 10kg payloads to orbit.
- WipeHero is bringing a whole new level of convenience to the relationship with our cars. Simply park anywhere, book online and we'll wash your car right where you left it. Our effective car cleaning process uses no water, saving on average 150 litres of water per vehicle.

Sydney Accelerator Network (SAN):IT invites expressions of interest from startups that have already had some traction and are keen to take their ventures to the next level.
SAN:IT provides resources and opportunities to emerging startups to work closely with University of Sydney researchers and students and take their ideas toward full commercialisation.
We recognise that establishing a startup involves overcoming many challenges and this can take time. With this in mind, our agreements with the selected startups are typically for periods ranging from six months to two years.
