This centre is comprised of national experts in clinical, laboratory and public health research to ensure Australia is equipped for a coordinated, effective and evidence based response to infectious diseases. They will train a robust cross-sectoral work force and develop sustainable research capacity integrated within the health system to ensure national and regional health security.

Established to improve public health outcomes by incorporating state-of-the-art, high throughput, and digital technologies into emerging infectious disease risk prediction and responses and developing an enabling practice and policy framework grounded in ethics research.

The Tuberculosis Centre supports world-class research aimed to improve coordination between and strengthen existing research initiatives on public health interventions, epidemiological and basic science approaches to tuberculosis control. The next generation of tuberculosis researchers will be fostered through the national and international collaborations of the centre.

We will establish research networks to detect emerging multiresistant infections, develop guidelines on how to manage them, implement locally successful programs that have been shown to save lives nationally and validate new practice-changing immune, bioinformatics and diagnostic technologies.
