The University of Sydney and the Chau Chak Wing Museum are committed to looking after the health and safety of our visitors, students and staff.

Admission guidelines

  • A face mask must be worn while visiting the Museum from 5pm Thursday 6 May until 4pm Sunday 9 May, with the exception of children under 12. Masks will be available at reception if needed. 
  • Visitors unable to wear a mask are encouraged to postpone their visit until after this period
  • It is not necessary to pre-book your visit
  • Check-in upon arrival by scanning the QR code displayed at the Museum entrance 
  • We recommend downloading the Service NSW app in advance. If you do not have the app you will still be able to enter your details on the web form
  • If you do not have a smart phone, contact details can be provided to front desk staff
  • Please practice social distancing and observe the gallery capacity limits displayed outside each gallery, and make use of the available hand sanitiser 
  • Do not attend if you are feeling unwell, have cold or flu symptoms, or have been in close contact of an identified COVID-19 case
  • The Museum shop is currently only accepting payment by card 

Opening hours

  • Monday to Friday, 10am – 5pm
  • Thursday, 10am – 9pm
  • Saturday to Sunday, 12pm – 4pm

The Museum is closed on most NSW public holidays. 

Queen's Birthday Public Holiday

The Museum will be closed on the Queen's Birthday public holiday, Monday, 14 June 2021.
