An evidence-based dysphagia telerehabilitation program for stroke survivors

This research study is about swallowing therapy via telehealth.

Participants who are interested in the study will have to:

  • Express interest in the study by contacting the research team
  • Complete a screening questionnaire 
  • Provide verbal and written consent
  • Complete questionnaires at the start and end of the study
  • Attend two assessment sessions via telehealth
  • Attend weekly telerehabilitation for 5 weeks
  • Complete training exercises at home. 

All interaction with participants will be either via phone or videoconferencing. There will be no face-to-face contact with the research team.

Eligibility

You may be eligible to participate in this study if you:

  • Had a stroke more than 6 months ago 
  • Have swallowing difficulties(e.g., drinking or eating makes you cough, drinking or eating takes extra effort, food or drinks often go down the wrong way, food get stuck in your throat, you take a long time to eat)
