Benefits

Four Scholarship amounts are offered based on ranking against the selection criteria:

I. $10,000 towards academic tuition fees for one semester, or

II. $20,000 in total towards academic tuition fees across two semesters. The $20,000 will be spilt evenly across the two associated semesters.

III. $30,000 in total towards academic tuition fees across three semesters. The $30,000 will be split evenly across the three associated semesters.

IV. $40,000 in total towards academic tuition fees across three semesters. The $40,000 will be split evenly across the three associated semesters.

Who's eligible

You must:

  • have an unconditional offer of admission into the MBA (Leadership and Enterprise) within the University of Sydney Business School at the University of Sydney

Applicants who have already commenced the MBA (Leadership and Enterprise) are not eligible.

1. Background

a. Established in 2018, this Scholarship is generously funded by the University of Sydney Business School to assist students commencing the Master of Business Administration (MBA) (Leadership and Enterprise) at the University of Sydney.

2. Eligibility

a. Applicants must have an unconditional offer of admission for the MBA (Leadership and Enterprise) within the University of Sydney Business School at the University of Sydney.

b. Applicants who have already commenced a degree in MBA (Leadership and Enterprise) are not eligible.

3. Selection Criteria

a. The Scholarship will be awarded on the basis of:

I. academic merit, and

II. a personal statement which demonstrates why the applicant would benefit from the scholarship, their academic achievements, community involvement, extra-curricular activities, leadership qualities, and awards and recognition.

b. Shortlisted applicants may be requested to attend either an in-person or video conference interview.

c. The Scholarship will be awarded on the nomination of a selection committee consisting of the Director of the MBA Program, or their nominated delegate, and at least one other member of staff from the MBA Program.

4. Value

a. Two Scholarship amounts are offered based on ranking against the selection criteria:

I. $10,000 towards academic tuition fees for one semester, or

II. $20,000 in total towards academic tuition fees across two semesters. The $20,000 will be spilt evenly across the two associated semesters.

III. $30,000 in total towards academic tuition fees across three semesters. The $30,000 will be spilt evenly across the three associated semesters.

IV. $40,000 in total towards academic tuition fees across three semesters. The $40,000 will be spilt evenly across the three associated semesters.

b. Deferral of the Scholarship is not permitted without the prior permission of Director of the MBA Program and it is not transferable to another University school, faculty or university.

c. The Scholarship will be offered subject to the availability of funds.

d. No other amount is payable.

5. Ongoing eligibility

a. To continue receipt of the Scholarship, the recipient must maintain a minimum Semester Average Mark (SAM) of 65 each semester, remain enrolled in 24 credit points of study each semester and have no outstanding tuition fees.

6. Termination

a. The Scholarship will be terminated if the recipient:

I. withdraws from an eligible course or fails to enrol,

II. commences part-time study without prior approval,

III. does not maintain satisfactory academic performance,

IV. is determined by the University to be guilty of serious misconduct, including, but not limited to, having provided false or misleading information as part of their Scholarship application,

V. is awarded an alternative primary scholarship. In such circumstances this scholarship will be terminated in favour of the alternative scholarship where the alternative scholarship is of higher value,

VI. has outstanding unpaid academic tuition fees,

VII. does not resume study at the end of a period of approved leave, or

VIII. any other provision as indicated in these terms that would lead to termination.

b. Once the Scholarship has been terminated, it will not be reinstated unless due to University error.

c. Where a student is found guilty of serious misconduct or withdraws from the relevant course, the University reserves the right to request that any Scholarship funds paid to the Scholarship recipient be reimbursed.
