The Research Training Program (RTP) scholarships and equivalent university scholarships provide financial support to international postgraduate research students.

100% tuition fees for up to 14 research periods.

  • Commencing or enrolled in a higher degree by research

  • Those awarded with a USYDIS will automatically be awarded this scholarship

International Tuition Fee Scholarship (pdf, 246kb)

Preference

Preference may be given to applicants who:

  • intending to enrol or currently enrolled in a PhD,
  • have not previously received an Australian Government or University Scholarship to complete an HDR course at the same level,
  • have not previously completed an HDR course at the same level of study.

How to apply

To be considered for a RTP scholarship and equivalent University scholarships, you must:

Commencing students

  1. Apply for admission and submit all required documentation for admission to a higher degree by research through Sydney Courses by the deadlines outlined in the 'Application and award timeline' table – these differ for domestic students and international students.
  2. Submit the scholarship application form by the deadlines.

Currently enrolled students

  1. Be currently enrolled in a higher degree by research. 
  2. Submit the scholarship application form by the deadlines.
