Leading multidisciplinary research in data-intensive science
We are a multidisciplinary team of researchers developing methods to help solve complex global problems, from designing predictive biomarkers of disease progression to ensuring the sustainability and quality of food production.
We work on the principle that successful and sustainable collaboration grows organically within the right environment. To this end, our priorities for success are to:
- embrace data science challenges by developing innovative, fit-for-purpose applied methods in synergistic partnerships with key data-generating centres at Sydney and beyond
- address data challenges with high societal impact and to build sustainable approaches
- provide an incubator for interdisciplinary careers
- establish a collaborative community that reflects and values diversity.
A research leader is a University of Sydney affiliated member of the Sydney Precision Data Science Centre who either leads a program of research that in large part uses precision data science techniques captured by at least one of the three research clusters or is using precision data science techniques to addresses problems within one of our data-discovery themes.
A proportion of a research leader's work must align with the SPDS Centre’s research strategy. All research leaders of the Sydney Precision Data Science Centre are committed to identifying the Centre in their selected research output.
To join the Centre as a research leader, please email data-science.admin@sydney.edu.au expressing your interest and confirming you meet the criteria. The Centre’s Executive Committee reviews all expressions of interest.
