Due to the current weather conditions being experienced along NSW's east coast, a number of areas across Sydney may be flooded and/or inaccessible, and travel services may be disrupted.
Some in-person classes may be switched from in-person to remote classes temporarily or changed to alternative locations on campus. Any changes will be communicated via your Unit of Study coordinator – please check Canvas for any updates.
For those in our community who have been affected by these floods, through safety concerns, loss of property, physical and mental health implications, and other unforeseen consequences, the University would like to provide support through provision of resources for students in need.
Students affected by the floods who require financial support to help with immediate expenses can contact Financial Support Services. Eligible students experiencing financial hardship may be able to receive bursary assistance.
The Australian Government has established an assistance program for those adversely affected by a natural disaster. The Disaster Recovery Payment (DRP) is administered through the Department of Human Services and Centrelink and should be contacted directly for any enquiries relating to this program. It is recommended that you view the steps to claim this payment and contact the Emergency information line for any further assistance on 1800 22 66.
