Sydney Policy Lab support for early- and mid-career researchers
New funding for EMCRs from the Sydney Policy Lab offers up to $5000 for researchers to seek policy impact and develop career capabilities.

The Sydney Policy Lab 2025 Impact Awards, of which the EMCR scholarships are part, are designed to support researchers to engage in community-led, exploratory, multidisciplinary research that addresses complex policy challenges.

The scholarships seek to support individual EMCRs and their networks with career progression while fostering greater impact for community-engaged, policy-related research by enabling recipients to build knowledge, develop skills and grow networks that enhance their ability to influence public policymaking.

“Supporting early- and mid-career researchers to maximise the community impact of their research is an exciting part of our work to build a new ecosystem for public policy R&D,” says Sydney Policy Lab Director Dr Kate Harrison Brennan.

Recipients of the scholarship will be able to use the funds for activities including travel and conference attendance, production of workshops and events, and books and subscriptions.

University of Sydney EMCRs are warmly invited to review the award criteria and apply online by 18 May.
