Students attend a speech pathology placement experience using a range of person-centred, service level and advocacy interventions, as well as complete other tasks to develop their skills required for readiness to practice as a speech pathologist. Students manage a caseload, providing safe and appropriate services in an off-campus setting, with predominantly child or adult clients. Students engage in critical reflective practice and reciprocal learning with colleagues from other disciplines and the wider community. Students are expected to demonstrate competency in professional communication skills, cultural responsiveness, as well as transfer of knowledge and skills across environments.
