Students undertake a 6 week practiced education placement (adult or child) in an off-campus workplace. Under the guidance of a speech pathology practice educator, students are require to demonstate a level of independence interacting within the workplace, and providing culturally responsive, safe and effective services to those with communication and/or swallowing needs. Students will engage in a wide range of interventions, and use reflective practice and reciprocal learning with peers, practice educators, and colleagues to develop their practice. Students are expected to demonstrate a level of interaction and professional practice within the workplace that indicates they are nearing (penultimate placement) or ready to enter the profession (final placement).
