Graduates of the Master of Sustainability degree will:

1 Demonstrate expert theoretical knowledge in sustainability relevant to current issues facing the planet.
2 Apply contemporary multidisciplinary and integrated knowledge of sustainability principles to complex systems of interwoven physical, economic and social scenarios.
3 Investigate, critically analyse and synthesise complex problems of resource supply in economic, environmental and societal contexts using evidence-based research on sustainability.
4 Apply sound technical research principles and skills in quantitative and/or qualitative analysis techniques to analyse sustainability problems and tailor research findings to create positive outcomes and change.
5 Resolve sustainability dilemmas in topics such as biodiversity, food security, population and health policies and energy technology in regional and national settings in a professional and ethical manner.
6 Reflect critically on how local and global institutions and organisations address sustainable development and apply problem-solving skills to develop evidence-based solutions to complex problems.
7 Communicate effectively to specialist and non-specialist audiences on topics related to sustainability, demonstrating a high level of personal autonomy and accountability.
8 Investigate a substantive individual or small group research question relevant to two or more sustainability theme areas; identifying and applying evidence-based interventions; assessing the impact, efficacy and sustainability of these interventions; and present the findings in written and oral modes.
