Our Support for Students Policy explains our commitment to student safety and success. It sets out principles and processes for identifying and supporting students at risk. If you need help, this policy tells you where to find it.

It applies to all University community members and to University-related conduct affecting students.

Students: to understand the support available to them and how to access it.

Academic staff and affiliates: to guide them in identifying and supporting students at risk.

Professional staff: to help them provide support services to students.

You can apply for support if you think you need it.

We also identify students at risk of not successfully completing units. This might happen if you have:

  • unsatisfactory early feedback
  • low learning management system (LMS) engagement
  • previous failures
  • other risk factors.

We send information about services to at-risk students, ideally before the census date.

Feedback

We want your feedback to help us keep our policies:

  • up to date and accurate
  • easy to understand and use.
