Self-help resources and workshops

In addition to individual therapy/counselling, we offer a range of support options, including CAPS Head Set site, self-help resources and workshops.

Head Set

Head Set by Counselling and Psychological Services (CAPS) is an online resource that offers a variety of evidence-based information and practices. These are aimed at helping you manage psychological wellbeing to achieve your individual goals at university. Access the Head Set site in Canvas.

Self-help resources

Our self-help resources cover a range of topics to help you manage your wellbeing. They are not intended as a substitute for professional medical advice, diagnosis or treatment by an appropriate health professional.

Workshops

Throughout the year we run a series of free workshops. These are designed to equip you with skills to cope with the demands and challenges of study and everyday life. They cover a range of topics and you can attend as many as you like each semester.

We have recently had to change our usual workshops offerings due to COVID-19 and will start to offer sessions through our CAPS webinar series.

Webinar series

Are you feeling anxious about taking exams in this COVID-19 environment? Join CAPS counsellors as we talk through our top tips for COVID 19 exam success. We will go through strategies to help you prepare for your exams, how to cope with that mid-exam panic, deal with problems that crop up, and how to recover. You will also have a chance to ask us any questions, so you can leave feeling exam ready.

We are offering the session over three different days and times, with two sessions presented in English and one presented in Mandarin.
