Current course applicants

You can also apply for credit if you’re currently applying for admissions at the University of Sydney either through UAC or directly.

You are a UAC applicant if you have applied for admissions through UAC and have already accepted an offer for entry into your course at the University of Sydney.

Direct applicant

You are a direct applicant if you are directly applying to the University of Sydney for admission into a course.

When credit won't be granted

You can’t get credit for:

  • study completed more than 10 years ago (for some courses this time limit is reduced to three or five years)
  • undergraduate units to be credited towards a postgraduate degree (however, RVL may be awarded where eligible)
  • units where you received concessional pass grades
  • units you attempted and did not pass
  • studies completed at another tertiary institution that you were excluded from.

Some schools and faculties won't award credit for a unit that you previously failed at the University of Sydney. Check the faculty and course resolutions in your handbook.
