The ForeFront Clinic provides in-depth assessment, care plans and ongoing support for people diagnosed with frontotemporal dementia and motor neurodegenerative syndromes. Our clinic sees patients across the spectrum of motor neurodegeneration and peripheral nerve disorders. We also have expertise in the assessment of those with atypical or early-onset cognitive disorders.
Conditions include:
Our clinic is integrated with the ForeFront research program, which is dedicated to finding treatments for neurological disorders. Patient-centered research combines research with clinical practice. It means we can better understand the needs of our patients, their families and carers, and together, turn research outcomes into healthcare practices and policies that benefit people affected by these conditions.
Our team of experts will carry out a range of assessments together with each patient. Based on the results, we create an individualised care plan to meet your needs. We send this care plan and a clinic summary to your GP and any health providers involved in your care.
Each patient is reviewed every four to six months depending on their needs. We do not perform home visits, however we are happy to refer you to local allied health providers if needed.
We provide a range of assessments including:
Please ask your GP or specialist to send a referral addressed to Prof Matthew Kiernan. Please also include a copy of any relevant test results such as MRI, pathology or neurophysiology with the referral.
Referrals can be sent by post to:
Once a referral has been received the clinical team will review the referral and the patient will be contacted to arrange an appointment.
Appointments cannot be made without a referral.
