Learning outcomes

On successful completion of the Industrial Relations and Human Resource Management major students will be able to:

1. Analyse and apply key theories, concepts and approaches in human resource management and industrial relations.
2. Evaluate the economic, institutional political and social factors that influence and shape work and employment relationships.
3. Evaluate and critique classical theories of management and engage with alternative perspectives. 
4. Develop data analytics knowledge, skills, competencies, and digital literacy skills to solve industrial relations and human resource management challenges in organisations.
5. Analyse how workplace relations and human resource management strategies and techniques affect different groups in organisations as well as determine their impact for society at large.
6. Develop strategic and operational solutions to real-life employment relations and human resource management issues and problems considering economic, cultural, historical, and geographical contexts.
7. Develop professional oral and written communication skills that are adaptable to different target audiences.
8. Develop ability to reflect on individual and team performance, while engaging with feedback from academics, industry partners, and peers.
