Overview

Immunology is increasingly important in new therapeutic approaches in a wide array of diseases, from allergy and autoimmune diseases, to cancer and infectious diseases. The pace of change has been rapid, and many experienced practitioners have expressed interest in upskilling.  

The course comprises of a mix of online lectures, face-to-face lectures, and workshops, which cover the fundamentals of immunology, the immune response to pathogens and cancer, immune-mediated diseases, immunological methods used in diagnosis and immunotherapeutics. Hands-on practical classes provide the opportunity to gain new technical skills as well as integrate theory and practice.

What you'll study

The professional certificate requires completion of 12 credit points of units of study.

The units of study are delivered in blended mode of online and face to face teaching sessions requiring weekly attendance.

Admission criteria

Admission to the Sydney Professional Certificate in Fundamentals of Immunotherapy requires students to have a Bachelor degree or equivalent professional experience in Immunology or a related field.
