Overview

Unexpected postoperative neurologic deficit is arguably one of the most devastating potential complications of surgery.

The use of intraoperative neuromonitoring (IONM)  is increasing in Australia and overseas, without a sufficient number of highly skilled providers. An increased interest in IONM amongst neurologists, surgeons and anaesthetists shows a demand for education that mirrors the increase in service demand.

The intraoperative neuromonitoring units of study are the only postgraduate coursework of its kind in Australia, providing a structured curriculum in intraoperative neuromonitoring to complement experiential learning.

Units of study:

  • Intraoperative Neuromonitoring I (CLNP5006)
  • Intraoperative Neuromonitoring II (CLNP5007)

Please see below under What you’ll study for unit of study details.
