The Business Analytics specialisation enables students to master the tools of quantitative analysis and apply them in a business setting. This involves building models of business problems and analysing business data. In today's business environment, there are often great amounts of data available, but few people with the skills to realise its profit potential. This specialisation provides opportunities to apply sophisticated analytical approaches in many different functional areas, such as in accounting, marketing, finance and operations.

About this specialisation

To meet requirements for the Business Analytics specialisation in the Master's degree, you will complete five units of study (30 credit points), as follows:

(1) one six credit point prerequisite foundational unit of study, as follows:

  • Quantitative Methods for Business.

(2) four elective units of study (24 credit points) selected from the options listed in the specialisation, including:

  • Business Operations Analysis
  • Business Risk Management
  • Data Science in Business
  • Financial Time Series and Forecasting
  • Machine learning for Business
  • Management Decision Making
  • Managing Business Intelligence
  • Predictive Analytics
  • Statistical Learning and Data Mining
  • Visual Data Analytics.
